THE DA NANG ARTISTS COMPANY

Virginia Lockett, an American physical therapist, created the DA NANG ARTISTS COMPANY as a not-for profit enterprise in order to provide talented, disabled Vietnamese artists with a way to market their artwork and also to help support the work of the Steady Footsteps charitable organization. Virginia met Nguyen Tan HIEN and Nguyen Thi Thuy TRANG while working in Central Vietnam with STEADY FOOTSTEPS. While other organizations provide opportunities in sheltered workshops for disabled individuals to do repetitious piecework, Virginia has found no other organization that recognizes, encourages, and markets high-quality, original art work of the sort that Trang and Hien produce. Hien and Trang aspire to support themselves and their families through their artistic endeavors and are committed to helping other disabled artists to do the same. Hien, Trang and Virginia hope that, in the future, the DA NANG ARTISTS COMPANY will grow and that we will be able to provide opportunties for other disabled artists in Central Vietnam.
